Netflix succeeds in signing Cameron Diaz for a movie

Cameron Diaz had put an end to her film career but Netflix managed to convince Cameron Diaz to return to the set with a Netflix action-comedy. She will be accompanied by Jamie Foxx.

In the 90s, Cameron Diaz was a mega star and will have made us dream. From her first film, in 1994 with The Mask, she was pulling out all the stops. Alongside Jim Carrey, the actress revealed herself as the sultry Tina, a real Tex Avery pin-up. After that, she played a series of roles, mostly in romantic comedies (such as The Wedding of My Best Friend). But the actress does not lack a certain self-mockery and proves it with the brilliant Mary at any price (1998). She proves that she can be particularly funny in absurd situations. As in this famous scene of “gel in the hair”.

Finally, it took 5 years for Cameron Diaz to become a star with no less than 14 films, and not the least! We note in particular the black comedy Very Bad Things (1998) and the very strange In the Skin of John Malkovich (1999) in which she composes with more complex roles. The years 2000 are then just as fruitful for her with Charlie and his funny ladies (2000) alongside Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu, Vanilla Sky (2001), Gangs of New York (2002) without forgetting Shrek (2001). It is indeed she who lends her voice (in VO) to Fiona in the saga.

During the years 2010, it will not be the same scenario and go less well. The star chains the critical failures in films that do not work as expected at the box office. She still has the opportunity to offer one of her best performances with Cartel (2013). Not enough, however, to keep her in the spotlight in the following years. She then announced, to everyone’s surprise, that she would end her film career in 2018. An official retirement that will have lasted four years. Because we learned today that the actress will finally make a comeback!

Cameron Diaz has agreed to return for an upcoming Netflix movie called Back in Action. The feature film will be an action-comedy whose plot remains unknown. She will be directed for the occasion by Seth Gordon (How to kill your Boss?). But above all, at his side, we will find the star, Jamie Foxx. The actor took the opportunity to share on Twitter a recording of a conversation he had with the actress. And to reassure her about his return, Jamie Foxx called on the immense American soccer champion Tom Brady, who had also announced his retirement before finally returning to the field.
