With this small product, it can lower anxiety in less than 3 minutes, and it can be used as many times as necessary and as a preventive measure.
Israeli startups are always looking for spectacular innovations, and this product is one of them. In a country at war, where the pace of life and the security situation caused some citizens to experience permanent stress and even frequent anxiety attacks, Adi Wallach has developed CalmiGo, a small device that fits in hand and reduces anxiety through breathing in just 3 minutes. Find out more.
This revolutionary product came from a personal need of Adi Wallach, who holds a degree in biomedical engineering from the prestigious Technion, the engineering school in Haifa. During her studies, the young woman began to have anxieties. She soon set out to develop a technology that would make it easier to manage stress without medication.
The product in question is straightforward to use and has been since the age of six. It is called CalmiGo and helps to regulate breathing effortlessly according to the breathing pattern of each individual.
After a few breaths, the parasympathetic nervous system is activated and reduces stress hormones. The device can be used as often as necessary, during intense stress, or as a preventive measure to prevent anxiety attacks. Indeed, at least 3 uses per day reduce the frequency of anxiety.
“This invention teaches us to relax through breathing and has no side effects. CalmiGo has the particularity of recording our breathing rhythm from the first breaths to guide us. Unlike mobile applications that do not distinguish the differences between humans, the device has an algorithm that makes it possible to follow a personalized path, to calm the stress felt by the body in stages. All the studies show that step breathing reduces tension,” explains Dorit Grinberg, a biologist with a doctorate in health sciences and technology, CEO of MDS Pharm, which markets the product in Israel. The device, CalmiGo, is based on three proven techniques to lower stress hormone levels by allowing the body to calm the sympathetic nervous system.
“We are constantly exposed to stress in our daily lives, and the pressure rarely comes down. Except for medication, the only thing that helps is breathing. But to breathe properly on your own takes a lot of practice, whereas, with CalmiGo, it’s almost immediate,” Doris says.
Within the device itself, aromatic products like lavender oil have been inserted. Lavender is known for its calming properties, and when you breathe it in, it goes straight to your brain and helps reduce stress.
Most people who use it suffer from anxiety; others take medication but do not want to increase the dose, so they combine it with the device. Others use it occasionally before an exam or public speaking to control their anxiety. For most of them, CalmiGo has changed their lives dramatically.
The CalmiGo product is already on sale in the U.S. and Israel, and more than 18,000 people have purchased it. Users in Israel and the U.S. are expected to continue their successful run in countries around the globe in the future.
Adi Wallach is in the process of establishing the CalmiGo product in Europe and Asia, and it is inevitable that with the war in Ukraine, the economic crisis and the pandemic, the CalmiGo has a bright future ahead of it.
