A 34-year-old felon, who fled the U.S. in 2018 under the impression that he was dead, was found in December in Scotland. He was being treated after contracting Covid-19.

Covid-19 virus helps police find fugitive criminal, 34-year-old American man, who had been posing as dead because he was wanted since 2018 following an alleged sexual assault in Utah, was arrested last month… in Scotland.

The official authorities of Utah, which communicated this Friday on the route Nicholas Rossi, the latter was arrested under an alias: Arthur Knight. The latter was taken care of in a hospital in Glasgow, where he is now monitored by the local police.

The surprise of the investigators was important: Nicholas Rossi “had fled the country to avoid prosecution” and “tried to make investigators believe he was dead,” Utah prosecutors said in a statement.

Utah County Attorney David O Leavitt said that “this suspect would probably still be living ‘under their radar’ if he had not contracted the coronavirus. Nicholas Rossi had to be intubated in December due to complications from the disease.
