Dune 2 is the highly awaited sequel to Denis Villeneuve’s 2021 science fiction transhumanist epic. In a recent Instagram image, Timothée Chalamet reveals a set from the film. The new movie, like the original, will be based on Frank Herbert’s classic 1965 novel of the same name, and it is likely to focus on the second half of the space opera. Young Paul Atreides (Chalamet), born into a noble but imperilled family, must face his destiny by venturing to the most deadly planet in the universe to ensure the survival of his people in the far future epic Dune.
Actor Timothée Chalamet posts a teaser photo from one of Dune 2’s bleak sets on Instagram in anticipation of the film’s 2023 release. According to reports, this is not the first time Chalamet has shown the massive Budapest-based set of the two-part epic. Last week, director Luca Guadagnino of Bones and All said he had paid a visit to Zendaya on the film’s set.
The Whole Story On Dune 2
Here we see Paul and Chani, two visions of the future from Dune.
Dune: Part 2 will come out late 2023, so fans still have a while to wait. Still, the massive global enthusiasm and speculation surrounding the sequel has revealed many of its most exciting features. The sequel will pick up with young Paul and his mother (Rebecca Ferguson) joining forces with the Fremen to pursue retribution against the Harkonnens and conspirators who slaughtered his family following the shocking losses of most of the House of Astreides’ armies in the first film. Director Dennis Villeneuve said at the time of the film’s announcement that Dune: Part 2 is “just the beginning” of what is planned to become a full-fledged science-fiction series. This bodes well for the strength and excitement of the sequel.
Villeneuve and Chalamet have both dropped strong hints that this film will have an outstanding ensemble cast. Dune 2 will feature Zendaya’s character Chani more prominently when she reunites with Paul. If you were one of the many fans of the Euphoria actress who was let down by her minor role in the first film despite being prominently featured in marketing, this should come as welcome news.
Along with returning cast members Zendaya and Chalamet, Dune: Part 2 will also feature several newcomers. Austin Butler, who played the antagonist Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen in “Elvis,” and Florence Pugh, who played Princess Irulan Corrino in “Footloose,” are among the other young A-listers joining the cast, alongside movie veterans Christopher Walken, who plays Emperor Shaddam IV, and Léa Seydoux, who plays Lady Margot. On November 17, 2023, Dune 2 will premiere exclusively in worldwide theatres.
