The World Cup in Qatar, a 100 million USD final

For this World Cup in Qatar, there will be thirty-two teams from all over the world, up to 832 players potentially used, and 64 matches in eight different stadiums…

The 2022 World Cup in Qatar is the star track, and the millions that fall from the sky and the amounts make the head spin; the endowment offered by FIFA to the participating teams causes the same effect. A total of 440 million dollars will be paid to the participating teams, depending on their performance.

Half of them will receive nine million dollars (about 8.7 million euros) at the end of the group phase: these are the 16 teams that will leave Qatari soil after three short games, eliminated after a third or fourth place in their group. This is a small consolation prize after a disappointing run, which the last three world champions experienced.

For the teams eliminated in the round of 16, on December 3, 4, 5 and 6, the prize money will be a little higher: 13 million dollars, FIFA announced. Those who fail in the quarterfinals, at the gates of the last four, will benefit from 17 million dollars.

For the last four, the semi-finalists will be even better off. The third-place finisher, who lost in the semifinals but won the minor final, will receive $27 million, two million more than the fourth-place finisher, who lost the small final. The unfortunate finalist of the 2022 edition will be consoled with 30 million dollars, while the winner will lift the World Cup trophy on December 18… and will leave with 42 million dollars (about 40.4 million euros).

At the top of all these dizzying figures, there is a distribution of sporting merit; the 32 qualified teams will all be awarded 1.5 million dollars as preparation costs
