Hsu is playing the role of the movie star’s assistant,  opposite Taylor-character. Johnson’s (Blunt plays a prosthetics makeup artist who has a history of romance with the stuntman.)

Kelly McCormick and Leitch, under their 87North label, are the producers. As well as Gosling, Guymon Casady of Entertainment 360 is producing.

Producing duties for the show will be shared between Pearce and Geoff Shaevitz.

On behalf of Universal, the project is managed by executive VP of production Matt Reilly and director of development Tony Ducret.

As the Hollywood awards season continues to heat, talk of an Oscar nomination for Hsu’s dual performance in the critically praised Everything Everywhere is circulating. In her role as Yeoh’s antagonistic daughter, Hsu was vital to the film’s success. In addition to her heroic incarnation, the daughter also has a criminal image that is hellbent on destroying alternate histories everywhere in the multiverse.

Along with her work on Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Hsu became a household name in 2020 when the show’s cast took home the Screen Actors Guild Award for outstanding ensemble in a comedy series.

Next is a starring role in the as-yet-untitled Adele Lim comedy from Lionsgate and an episode of the Poker Face anthology series from Peacock. In addition, she will reteam with Michelle Yeoh in the upcoming Disney+ series American Born Chinese.
