Marvel’s Midnight Suns, the launch was delayed again

Take-Two Interactive has postponed the release of Firaxis Games’ planned strategy game Marvel’s Midnight Suns. The delay from its original March 2022 release date was disclosed late last year by developers 2K Games and Firaxis. There is currently no information regarding the release date for Marvel’s Midnight Suns, which had been set for October 7 but has now been pushed back.

Take-Two has updated its financial filings to reflect that the October release date for Marvel’s Midnight Suns has been pushed back. Instead, the game’s release will not occur until the current fiscal year, which Take-Two is funding. Since Take-fiscal Two’s year doesn’t end until March 31, 2023, the game’s release may be delayed. On the other hand, it is still possible that it will come in 2022.

This is bad enough, but the fact that there will be no launch windows for the previous generation of Marvel’s Midnight Suns makes it all the more disheartening. Take-Two has decided to release the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC versions of the game this fiscal year, despite previous plans to fire on all platforms at once. However, the release dates for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch versions are marked as “TBA.” Therefore, it is pretty unlikely that they will occur until much later.

In short, Marvel’s Midnight Suns may be experiencing difficulties on last-gen platforms, as seen by the delay and the new staggered mode of its delivery. Despite Take-Two and Firaxis Games’ continued dedication to porting Midnight Suns across all of these platforms, it’s becoming increasingly apparent that the use of outdated technology is posing some challenges to the studio.
