When Theo Hernandez opened the score with a semi-bicycle kick, it seemed to shock the Moroccans and put them in a state of disarray since the Moroccan style of play could not handle an opponent’s goal, let alone so early in the game. The worst part of it all was that they were up against a strong French defensive line.

Konate, Hernandez and Varane seemed to have created a defensive wall of the first order, preventing any danger from the Moroccan team. Nevertheless, the hero of the defence was once again Lloris, who managed to stop all the wonderful Moroccan offensive actions, including this superb bicycle kick from Jawad El Yamiq.

In conclusion, there was no doubt that the man of the match was Griezmann, who seemed to do everything on the field, preventing an opponent’s goal on several occasions, he was indeed a magician, and could even claim the title of the best player of the World Cup.

Moreover, Didier Deschamps and his coach-tactician class once again proved that they were too strong for the opposition; he respected his opponent and did not take his tenacity lightly.

Finally, the group that should be congratulated, even after a sad defeat, is the Moroccans; they fought and gave everything, and now they will improve and prepare for the next world cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Last night in Qatar, the Moroccan national team proved that they are now among the best national teams in the world. After playing most of the World Cup favourites, the Moroccans were unable to beat the French team, although they looked like they could equalize and maybe even win the game, but luck did not seem to be on their side.
