His apparent confirmation comes after fans worried that the cliffhanger ending of Toy Story 4 would mean the end of the story for the two main characters. Sequel announcements included Toy Story 5, Frozen 2, and Zootopia 2. None of the actors have been officially named, but Allen tweets, “I feel bad for you, Woody, since you seem like such a sad, odd little man. And now we go on to the fifth! The stars and beyond!”
Putting Light year’s Absence in Toy Story 5 in Perspective
Light year, a film by Disney and Pixar, fell short of the success of Toy Story. Disney has tried to branch out in recent years with more original stories and fewer sequel entries, with mixed results. The three announcements of sequel films show that Disney has made significant changes to their content strategy since Iger’s return as CEO. The light year was a mishmash of old and new ideas for reviving a famous character, but in a spinoff title, that muddled vision contributed to the film’s many flaws.
However, Toy Story 5 has a chance to regain a lot of lost fans. Buzz’s storyline, which was downplayed in Toy Plot 4 in favour of Woody’s story, could get a better outcome now that he appears to be making a comeback. While Woody’s plot was expertly realized, Buzz’s tale was given less attention. Buzz took Bonnie’s other toys back to her at the end of Toy Story 4. The final scene foreshadows terrible news for Buzz, who eventually ends his trip with Woody. Still, the two pals have always been at the movie’s core, so they’ll probably reunite in Toy Story 5.
Although it was widely believed that Toy Story 4 would be the final installment, Buzz may profit significantly from another mainline feature; thus, Disney took a small risk in bringing him back. It could be too wonderful of a chance to pass up to get back the character and have Allen do his voice again. With the release of Toy Narrative 5 finally confirmed, fans can give Buzz’s story the attention it deserves.
