Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight has become a social phenomenon

Few superhero movies have had as much of an impact on the culture as Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy. Some of the best genre stories of the last 30 years can be found in the Christian Bale-led comic book epics, and when most people talk about the best superhero movies, The Dark Knight is usually at the top of the list. Now, ten years after the trilogy ended, McFarlane Toys is making an action figure line for Nolan’s Gotham.

McFarlane’s Instagram account slowly showed off the Build-A-Figure Dark Knight wave this week. The line will include Bale’s Batman in his updated Dark Knight armor, Aaron Eckhart’s Harvey Dent as Two-Face, Celine Murphy’s Scarecrow, and Heath Ledger’s Joker. Each figure will come with a Build-A-Figure piece to make Bane from The Dark Knight Rises, played by Tom Hardy. On Thursday, February 16, people can start putting in orders for this gritty, movie-themed line.

How Christopher Nolan Created The Perfect Trilogy With The Dark Knight?

What the “Dark Knight” trilogy left behind
When the movie Batman Begins came out in 2005, it was a huge hit worldwide. Batman & Robin, the last film in the series, almost killed the whole comic book genre for good, and Nolan’s name wasn’t even known yet. But because it was so serious and accurate to the source material, Batman Begins became a classic right away. It was an emotional epic that just so happened to be a superhero movie. Its themes were hope and the fight between good and evil. Whether it was Bale’s scary take on Batman, the great music by Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard, or Nolan’s big picture, this movie is still one of the best origin stories ever told. Even though Nolan’s first Batman movie was funny and romantic, it was the first to use the terms “dark and gritty.” This changed the way comic book movies were made for good.

Even though Batman Begins was well-reviewed and did okay at the box office, nothing could have prepared comic book fans for The Dark Knight. The 2008 sequel took everything good about the first movie and made it even better. Nolan also improved on everything that could have been better.

The thrilling action in this modern classic was greatly improved, but the best thing about it is the way the story is told from the points of view of Batman, Harvey Dent, and The Joker. This is like Heat meets Batman, full of all the sad things that happen when you’re a vigilante. This is one of the best crime thrillers ever made, and the actors give legendary performances. Ledger and Eckhart play two of the best bad guys in the genre’s history, leading to best third act ever made.

The Dark Knight Rises, which came out in 2012, was the last movie in the trilogy. Dark Knight Rises is one of the most ambitious movies ever made, even though it’s not as good as the movies that came before it. The origin story of Batman, “Batman Begins,” was all about facing your fears. The crime thriller “Dark Knight” was full of chaos, and “The Dark Knight Rises,” an epic war movie, was about facing the demons of your past. It was a great ending to the trilogy. Tom Hardy’s Bane was another memorable icon of the genre, and Anne Hathaway’s Cat woman was a great contrast to Christian Bale’s Dark Knight. It would be an understatement to say that the movie was a satisfying ending on an emotional level. It also made The Dark Knight trilogy one of the best film trilogies of all time.

McFarlane Toys has shown that it deserves DC’s legacy.

Since early 2019, when McFarlane Toys got the DC license, they have made some of the best superhero action figures. Their movie lines, like the ones for Zack Snyder’s Justice League, The Batman, Black Adam, and the upcoming Shazam!, have been especially great. Fury of the Gods is great for only $20, which is a great deal. That’s why it’s so exciting that their following big line will be The Dark Knight trilogy. Their figures always look great because of how much detail they have, and these preview pictures show that the Dark Knight figures are no different. We hope that this is the beginning of their love for Nolan and that we’ll get more figures of Hathaway as Catwoman, Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon, and Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth in the future. The possibilities are endless because there are many memorable characters in the trilogy.

While we wait for these Dark Knight trilogy figures, you can look at the preview pictures below. You can also go to McFarlane’s website to see all their latest figures. The Dark Knight trilogy is now available on HBO Now.
