The series continues for the Planet of the Apes with the 4

The news is excellent for “Planet of the Apes 4”. The next movie is moving forward and will start its production in a month for a release in 2024. To wait, a first visual has been revealed.

The series was launched from the novel Planet of the Apes (1963) by Pierre Boulle was born the vast franchise we know today. From there, the first movie with Charlton Heston was released in 1968. The latter played an astronaut who lands on a planet where apes have evolved and dominate while humans have been enslaved. He is the hero of the two sequels directed by Matt Reeves – before he tackles The Batman (2022) -, The Planet of the Apes: The Affrontation (2014) and The Planet of the Apes: Supremacy (2017). It is in particular, thanks to the writing of this compelling and empathetic character and the directing proposals of Matt Reeves, that the trilogy was a success.

The saga could have ended there, given the very good conclusion proposed by Matt Reeves. But Disney, which had not yet been able to take advantage of the franchise since the takeover of Fox, decided otherwise. A new movie is on the way, and we already knew who was directing it. It is Wes Ball, the man behind the Labyrinth trilogy.

Finally, on the casting side, Owen Teague (That), Peter Macon (The Orville) and especially Freya Allan (Ciri in The Witcher) will be the stars of this movie. And to make us salivate, we are offered a nice first visual showing a monkey on a horse in a ruined world where nature has taken over…
