It happens at the hospital in the Paris region and I meet a luminous couple, the man 70 years old, Claude holds the hand of his wife.
He kisses her hand, her forehead, covers her with words of love, speaks in her ear and I don’t notice any reaction from the woman.
Intrigued, I ask Claude if his wife is doing well because she doesn’t seem to answer him and doesn’t seem to care about his presence and that the breakfast he prepared for her, she doesn’t even touch it.
He said “I come by every day to bring her breakfast but she has Alzhmeimer’s disease”. I asked him, “Will your wife worry if one day you don’t come and bring her breakfast
He replied, “She doesn’t remember anything. She doesn’t even know who I am, she hasn’t recognized me for 8 years. I was surprised and told him “It’s wonderful what you do, every morning you talk to her even if she doesn’t recognize you”.
