She remembers that in her youth, she used to treat her dolls in a “clinic” perched on a tree – there, Daniéla gave them injections with pine needles and administered miraculous mixtures of mud and flowers.
Later on, as she grew up, Daniéla transferred her care to people but paid particular attention to children. Today Dr. Daniela Athanasova-Lineva is the favourite pediatrician not only of Bulgarians living in the USA, but also of the inhabitants of the multinational department of Queens in New York where she practices privately.
Recently, Dr. Daniéla Athanassova-Lineva became famous by receiving a prestigious award – the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP) proclaimed her “Pediatrician of the Year”. “For me these 20 years of medical practice have passed as if nothing had happened, but I am glad that I found myself in a country where you have the opportunity to be appreciated, and this is a prestige for me,” said Radio Bulgaria Daniéla. Her professional career began at the University of Varna, then moved on to the children’s emergency room at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan before she became a teacher and private doctor in Rego Park, New York.
Kids are dependent on their parents anyway; they don’t have a choice,” says the doctor. – After attending refresher courses at Harvard aimed at obesity and concomitant diseases, I started to train whole families in healthy living. Because, to care for children, we must first train the parents and guide them in the right way of living.
Happiness makes you beautiful. Beauty comes from health, and good health makes us happy. Dr. Daniéla Athanassova-Linéva puts this maxim into practice by perfecting her knowledge in the aesthetic and anti-aging medicine field. These are the tips she gives us to feel beautiful, self-confident and to work better:
Her regime is simple; she must go to bed on time, sleep usually, and meditate to calm down.
At the moment, many of my patients – mainly teenagers – suffer from depression, panic, and even – the desire to commit suicide. I try to explain to them that it is imperative to exercise at least one hour a day, not to eat prefabricated food, to sleep at least 7 to 8 hours, to spend more time in nature. This is the meaning of my life – I simply want to put into practice everything I have learned over the years for the benefit of the future generation.
Dr. Daniéla Athanassova-Linéva adds that ambition has always been my best friend, but after the tragedy, I see it is difficult to exercise control. All this teaches me never to waste a single second of my time and not to be afraid to take risks without thinking about the consequences.
