CORONAVIRUS IN THE WORLD: 10 DEATHS IN ITALY, 27 IN THE UNITED KINGDOM AND 90 IN SPAIN IN 24 HOURS

The world is facing an unprecedented health crisis due to the Covid-19 pandemic. There are more than 30.5 million cases worldwide and the number of deaths due to Covid-19 has reached 957,000 by September 18, 2020. The number of new cases has never been so high and new waves are appearing in some countries that seemed to have contained the epidemic.

In France, the latest assessment provided by the health authorities concerning the COVID-19 pandemic reports at least 428,696 confirmed cases (+13,215 in 24 hours) and a total of 31,249 deaths. On Friday, September 18, there were 123 deaths in hospitals in 24 hours. The number of deaths in EHPAD and EMS reports a total of 10,528 deaths, the next assessment will be given next Tuesday. Poland currently has 77,328 (+757) cases and 2,253 (+16) deaths due to Covid-19. The country has seen a sharp increase in the number of cases of contamination in recent days. In spite of this, the country excludes further containment. Poland bans direct flights from many countries including France.
In Iran, the epidemic continues. The country recorded 144 deaths in 24 hours, i.e. 23,952 in total. The country now counts 416,198 (+3,049 in 24 hours) reported cases. According to the BBC, there would actually be three times more deaths than in official reports and nearly 42,000 people have already died from the virus. The reopening of schools is controversial in the country.
Sweden is one of the few countries in Europe not to have chosen the containment option, but just recommendations.
