Boeing Group interested in Israeli technology

A major meeting took place yesterday between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Boeing’s Senior Vice President and President of Boeing Global, Brendan Nelson, and the President of Boeing Israel, Ido Nehushtan.

The Boeing Group outlined its projects in Israel, including strong collaborations between the American aircraft manufacturer and Israeli industry for the development of advanced technologies. There was also talk of the company’s increasing investment in Israel and business opportunities with the country.

Recently, during a visit to Israel in February by Boeing CEO Ted Colbert, the company had already announced increased cooperation with Tsahal.

Boeing boss Ted Colbert announced that the company would supply Israel with four KC-46 tankers, with an option for four more, as well as 25 new F-15 IA advanced fighter jets, with an option for 25 more.

The new aircraft, scheduled for delivery to Israel in 2025, will give fighter jets the ability to stay in the air for a much longer period, a particularly valuable asset, especially in the event of possible strikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities. The highly sophisticated KC-46 tanker will gradually replace the ageing Boeing 707 currently used by the Israeli Air Force, which is on the verge of being phased out.
