Billionaires richer thanks to the Pandemic
We already knew it: the fortunes of billionaires peaked during the Covid-19 pandemic, even as the world economy was in a state of breakdown.
According to a recent study conducted by the Swiss bank UBS and the auditing and consulting firm PWC, the combined fortunes of billionaires amounted to no less than 10.2 trillion dollars, a new record, beyond the peak of 2017. Their cumulative wealth then reached 8.9 trillion dollars.
According to the bank and the auditing firm, which draw up each year an inventory of the evolution of the assets of the super-rich in a study entitled "report of the billionaires", this privileged circle counted at the end of July 2.189 billionaires, that is to say 31 more than in 2017.
