An incredible casting for the Dungeons & Dragons movie

More of the film’s wit and stunning creature designs are displayed in a new behind-the-scenes teaser for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. The upcoming movie from Paramount Pictures is based on the famous tabletop fantasy role-playing game, and John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein directed it. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Hugh Grant, Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé Jean-Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, and others as they follow the story of a group of outcast adventurers on a mission to recover a priceless artifact.

Paramount Pictures has published a brand new poster and behind-the-scenes teaser for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, expanding upon the film’s comedic tone and wild animals that were first teased in the first trailer released earlier this summer. In the trailer, Pine, Rodriguez, Grant, and the rest of the cast give a taste of the movie’s blockbuster action, emotional depth, and monster designs ripped straight from the video game. Please watch the new clip and look at the poster below.

Reviewing All That We Know About D&D: Honor Among Thieves
In Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, Chris Pine and his cast mates are met with a raucous audience.
Daley and Goldstein’s upcoming adaptation is going in a new direction. Still, there are also numerous ways it stays true to the original tabletop game that diehard fans will appreciate. Never Winter, Waterdeep, Icewind Dale, and The Underdark are some of the Forgotten Realms locales taken directly from the competition and used in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. As well as reusing many of the game’s settings, the film also features a number of the game’s classes, with Pine portraying a Bard, Rodriguez a Barbarian, Page a Paladin, Smith a Sorceror, Lillis a Druid, and Grant, a Rogue.

The next film delivers on the promise of a wide range of fantastical monsters, a need in any Dungeons & Dragons adaptation. The next movie also has a variety of dragons, a mimic, an owlbear, a displacer beast, and a gelatinous cube. Even though the monsters in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves will pose severe challenges to the protagonists, Forge Fletcher (played by Grant) is widely regarded as the film’s primary antagonist. Grant, who is most known for playing several endearing romantic protagonists, will be making a dramatic shift in the genre with this role.

There are still many unanswered questions about Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, but the trailers have shown that the film will be both loyal to the game and innovative in its own right. There have yet to be any incredibly successful movie adaptations of the game before, but Paramount’s next feature could be a significant turning point for the brand. As the movie’s release date draws nearer, more information about Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is set to surface in the coming months, but the current trailer shows that fans are in for a humorous, monster-filled adventure.
