George Clooney and Julia Roberts on the set of “Ticket to Paradise.”

The romantic comedy, Ticket To Paradise”, came in second place with 10 million USD.

It is clear that the film’s casting helps the success, as Julia Roberts and George Clooney play ex-spouses who put aside their differences and travel to Bali to try to prevent their daughter’s marriage, considered too hasty.

It was Halloween week, and horror films were the logical choice, “four of the top ten films of the weekend were horror films,” said David Gross of Franchise Entertainment Research.

In third place, The Devil’s Prey took in $7 million, “a pretty average start for an original horror film,” but the film is getting “bad reviews”, according to David Gross.

Two other horror films, the psychological Smile, in fourth place and the bloody Halloween Ends, in fifth place, earned $5 million and $3.8 million, respectively.
