The men colonize the space and implant advertising spaces
A Canadian start-up is partnering with Elon Musk’s Space X to send a satellite into space that broadcasts advertising.
Samuel Reid, the CEO of the start-up Geometric Energy Corporation, unveiled his initiative, one of whose objectives is to democratize access to space, which he would like to make available to all interested broadcasters and consumers.
To carry out this project, the startup needed to partner with a major player in the aerospace industry and began approaching Space X in 2018 when Samuel Reid was also a teacher at the Ad Astra school created by Elon Musk for his children.
The CubeSat satellite is expected to be launched into orbit in the first half of 2022. The satellite will have a pixelated display on one side that will allow advertising to be displayed.
Once in orbit, a selfie camera will be deployed to film the pixelated display and send the advertisements to a media site, such as YouTube or Twitch, for public viewing.
With a few months to go before the satellite is launched by a Falcon 9 rocket, SpaceX is not communicating about the project and the startup has not cleared up all questions, such as the size of the advertising screen for example.
The advertising on a CubeSat will be managed by the purchase of tokens, the Beta and Rho tokens will allow to choose the location of the advertising thanks to coordinates on the X and Y axis, the Gamma token defines the brightness of the advertising, the Kappa token its color and the Xi token concerns the duration of the display on the screen.
It is expected that the currency used to purchase the tokens for the commercials will be a cryptocurrency, including Ethereum and Dogecoin
