Warner Bros. has started a new campaign to promote The Flash movie, even though no new teaser has been published since DC FanDome 2021. Images of The Flash items displayed at this year’s CCXP event have been shared online by Twitter users Ground Breaker and Nicholas Levi. While no new footage from the DCU film starring Miller’s Scarlet Speedster, Michael Keaton’s Batman, and Sasha Calle’s Supergirl was displayed during the convention, new merchandise featuring the three heroes was seen.
New Flash Movie Merchandise and What It Reveals
This is the Flash movie. In the words of Ezra Miller
Although the characters in The Flash are only depicted in silhouette, the shirt’s tagline reveals some interesting facts about the DCU film and its protagonists. First, it reinforces the idea that Miller is portraying multiple DC heroes. Since it was established in the first teaser trailer that there would be two versions of The Flash in the film, “two foolish kids” is a reference to the two Barry doppelgangers. It’s puzzling why Barry is being called an “idiot,” given that he’s usually considered one of the smartest characters in all of DC’s canon. This could reference the movie The Flash, in which Barry tries to change the past.
The news about Keaton’s Batman and Calle’s Supergirl is the most exciting thing to come out of The Flash’s new apparel. Even while it was already known that Keaton would play his version of the Dark Knight again, the fact that he is a “retired vigilante” indicates that he will be forced to don the Batsuit once again for the film. It’s currently unknown how long this version of Bruce Wayne has been out of costume, but it’ll likely be explained in The Flash. This also implies that Supergirl is “a half-charged solar-powered alien,” which is an interesting surprise for the film. The Flash will not be a straight translation of Flashpoint, but it is evident that the show is inspired by the government’s secretly detained alternate reality Superman.
The Flash teaser hints that Barry frees Supergirl from captivity, explaining why she is only half-strong at the film’s beginning. It would be strange to introduce a version of Supergirl that was never fully charged, but it wouldn’t be surprising if, by the end of the film, Supergirl was fully set after the final climax. The following Flash trailer, whenever Warner Bros. Discovery decides to drop it, should address some of the storylines from Batman and Supergirl.
