Neve Campbell claims to have been attacked by a bear on a film set
The accident happened when Campbell, 48, was just 17 years old and was dragged into the woods during a sequence that didn’t go as planned.
“I was playing this role where she’s doing ‘one with the animals’ and there was a scene where I was being chased by a bear, and they brought this bear to the set and they gave me this big bottle of Coke to feed him first,” Campbell said on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
“They told me to dip my hand in honey and run. And when you get to the tree over there, turn your hand over and feed the bear.
“I dipped my hand in honey, ran to that rock, turned around and held out my hand, but the bear didn’t slow down and come for my hand,” the actress added.
The bear grabbed Campbell by the leg
The famous actress of series like Party of Five or movies like The Craft followed the instructions, but the sequence with the bear did not go as planned.
“He grabs me by the leg and he pulls me through the forest,” the actress recounted.
But Campbell was born under a good star, an animal trainer threw stones at the bear to get his attention and thus away from the actress. Years later, she accepts that actors sometimes have to do silly sequences, “we are asked to do silly things.”
The star is currently promoting the latest film in the saga “Scream”, in which she returns as Sidney Prescott and has reunited with other members of the original cast as Courteney Cox and David Arquette.
