Johnny Depp wins and here are the facts

USA Today

After six years of constant back and forth Johnny Depp has finally proven to the world that he was the victim and not Amber Heard. While this case was not legally about Johnny Depp’s accusations of sexual harassment and abuse it surely came down to Amber Heard’s accusations and that’s what impacted the jury the most.

This was a very difficult decision for the jury it was even hard for most people to predict what the jury might decide on each count, but it surprised every reporter that Johnny Depp won on all counts except for the accusations from Mr. Waldman, which the jury found that it had harmed Amber Heard’s career.

Although this is a big win for the Johnny Depp team Some news has been spreading that Johnny Depp has won 15 million in damages from the accusations of Ms. Heard. Although this might be mathematically correct from what we heard it is not correct legally since the five million that have been accounted for from the 15 million are from punitive damages but what you don’t know is that in Virginia there is a cap on punitive damages which is $350,000. So in total Johnny Depp has won $10,350,000 which is a lot but not the number that has been spreading around.

It should not be forgotten though that Amber Heard also won $2 million which dials the number down to $8,350,000 which will most likely still hurt Amber Heard’s net worth and possibly force her to declare bankruptcy which is something that no Johnny Depp or Amber Heard supporter should celebrate because of her current situation and family. Even if you believe she is guilty that is done she is guilty in the eyes of the law but wishing misfortune two a woman who is also a mother it’s not the right thing to do.

This case has not only shown how men can be victims of abuse as well but it has also brought out the wrong side of the Internet. While it is fine to support the person of your choosing it is undeniably horrible to send death threats and online attacks to anyone. No matter how bad someone is it is never right to bully, attack or abuse anyone online.
